  • Work closely with laboratory scientists to design experiments required for model development and validation.

A Ph.D. or equivalent in the physical sciences or chemical engineering is required. The successful candidate must also have:

  • Demonstrated proficiency applying finite-element and/or finite-difference techniques;
  • Experience modeling transport and diffusion phenomena;
  • Experience using MATLAB and MS Office;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Manage program and supervise a team of chemists and physical scientists.
  • Lead research involving atmospheric reaction mechanisms associated with aerosol formation and reactivity, e.g., O3, NOx, OH, SOAs, and VOCs, and gas-surface reaction dynamics.
  • Lead aerosol chemical analyses using spectrometry technologies, e.g., IR and mass spectrometry.
  • Design, build, modify, implement and maintain high vacuum systems.
  • Design and lead experiments utilizing high vacuum technologies.
  • Write proposals, technical reports and open literature papers.
  • Make technical presentations.

A Ph.D. or equivalent in the chemical sciences or chemical engineering is required. The successful candidate must also have:

  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of atmospheric chemical characterization;
  • Experience in using laboratory support software, e.g., LABVIEW, Origin, AutoCad, Igor, and OPUS;

  • MS office skills;
  • Ability to acquire and maintain Top Secret DoD Security Clearance.
