JBPDS Bio Sensor Performance Model
OptiMetrics created the Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS) Bio Sensor Performance Model to model the internal processes of the JPBDS, a man-portable experimental sensor system developed by the US Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center to detect and identify the presence of airborne biological warfare agents on the battlefield. The JBPDS Bio Sensor Performance Model is a highly-detailed, engineering-level model that leverages the OSPM system architecture.
JBPDS
The JBPDS is a complex sensor system designed to:
- Monitor the air for materials of possible biological origin
- Determine if that material is a potential biological threat
- Collect samples of the aerosol
- Identify the specific type of biological material that is present
- Communicate results to local and remote personnel
- Save samples for laboratory analysis
