EO Sensor Performance
As evidenced by our name, OptiMetrics has been a leader in understanding and modeling Electro-Optical (EO) Sensors since the inception of the company. EO Sensors are now critical components of most military weapons systems, from individual weapons to aircraft carriers. The Tactical Imaging Model (TIM) developed by OptiMetrics simulates the performance of may types of military sensors including Video Cameras, Image Intensifiers, Scanning Infrared Sensors and Staring Infrared Imagers. The Sensor Obscurant Engagement Simulation (SOES) models the ability of an array of sensors to “see” an array of platforms through an engagement scenario. SOES allows the user to vary sensor characteristics, obscurant conditions, environmental conditions and engagement tactics to perform trade-off studies of those factors.
OptiMetrics has models, and experience in using government models, for analysis of Laser Radar (LADAR) and laser designation systems. We are experts in understanding and modeling atmospheric propagation and target effects of high-energy laser systems. In fact we wrote the book on high-energy laser propagation: “High Energy Laser Propagation Handbook”, OptiMetrics, Inc., January 1983.
